At Advanced Dental Care Clinic Coast, we provide a number of tooth replacement treatments for patients who have lost one or more teeth. Full dentures, removable partial dentures and fixed partial dentures (bridges) offer aesthetically pleasing results when restoring smiles. During your consultation with Dr Ruth Parrag, she will assess your oral concerns and discuss with you the options available for your unique situation and will let you know about the process of dentures on the Gold Coast.
Full dentures may be necessary for a number of different reasons. Tooth loss, severe decay, periodontal disease and medical conditions can all lead to the need for full dentures.
At Advanced Dental Care Clinic, Dr Parrag will work with you to preserve your natural teeth where possible rather than extract the teeth. In some cases however, removing the remaining teeth and replacing them with full dentures is the most appropriate solution. Full dentures are able to assist with eating, speaking and for aesthetic appearance.
A removable partial denture is a denture used to replace multiple missing teeth. Removable partial dentures are an alternative for patients who cannot have a bridge or dental implant. Much like full dentures, this type of cosmetic solution uses a set of prosthetic teeth that can be designed to perfectly mimic the natural shine, shade and appearance of the patient’s remaining teeth.
Removable partial dentures are named as such because they can be removed by the wearer, whereas fixed partial dentures can only be removed by a qualified dental professional.
For first-time denture patients, you will generally require 3 to 5 appointments for completion of your dentures. During your initial appointment, we will discuss with you your options and work with you to prepare your treatment plan.
We will take measurements of your mouth and impressions of your jaws and use this to create a wax-up of your new dentures. During this stage you have complete control over the shape, colour and style of your new teeth. When you have decided on how you want your new denture to look, the final model will be sent to a local Gold Coast laboratory to be fabricated.
Once the denture has been fabricated our team at Advanced Dental Care Clinic will contact you to organise your fitting appointment. And voila! Your new smile is ready to shine!
If the denture no longer fits comfortably, you may need to have your denture relined. Relines are completed to improve the fit and at Advanced Dental Care Clinic we can reline your denture in 2 appointments. Most can be completed in the same day! This treatment is designed to help your denture fit more comfortably and should not affect the appearance of your smile. For more information, contact our team today.
Fixed partial dentures are most commonly known as bridges. Bridges are porcelain crowns that are fused to a false tooth and supported by strength of the surrounding teeth. Bridges offer increase in strength and function for patients with missing teeth.
